Bartush Design is an award-winning Austin based residential architecture and design firm specializing in kitchen and bathroom design. Its principal, Rose Bartush, received a Masters degree in Architecture from Tulane University and began her career in New Orleans, LA, mastering the artful precision and balance of the traditional style. Relocating to Austin afforded her the opportunity to apply these grounded traditional disciplines to contemporary and transitional design, yielding a portfolio of artisan designs reflective of today’s lifestyle.

It's an interesting challenge to redefine a space and the transformation that occurs is always a controlled surprise. Because this end result is so opposite from its inception, it's hard to imagine what once was.

Kitchen & Bathroom
Through my own passion for cooking, I’ve developed a heightened awareness of kitchen functionality.
As the heart of the home, the kitchen is where people gather and sustenance lives. A well-thought-out design can bring ease of movement, inspiration and encourage an open exchange; while other rooms benefit from a reverence for solitude and privacy. Often homeowners jokingly refer to a second master vanity as a marriage saver. But beneath the humor lies a bit of truth. Whether it be a second vanity bowl, an enclosed toilet room, or a separate master closet, each of these elements has the potential to change lives. And yes, at times will even allow you to love your significant other that much more. I suppose what it all boils down to is that as humans, we all need a space to call our own.
The design that Rose came up with was truly awesome. She was able to use light and space and color in a way that is nothing short of magical. I absolutely LOVE our space! She also helped us select colors and surfaces, which made everything work even better. — ROB BUFORD
Space Planning

Space planning is always part of the home design process, no matter the scope. After collecting and sifting through the network of requirements and personal tastes, I identify the common threads and organize the sum of parts. The culmination is functional harmony, distinctive beauty and an enhanced lifestyle.
